Blessed I am.

Got this in my mail today. Something touched me when I was reading it. How true and how often do we take things for granted. I know I am blessed, cause I always have my family, my friends and Yao. I am blessed cause I have a job I like, I get to take a course I like, I have a understanding boss who gives in to my tantrums. I don't worry for my next meal, I don't worry bout having a roof over my head. All in all. I am blessed. But yet, I take everything for granted...
There is a blind girl who hates herself just because she is blind.

She hates everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He's always there for her. She tells him that if she can only see the world, she will marry him.

One day, someone donates a pair of eyes to her. She can now see everything including her boyfriend.

Her boyfriend asks her, "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?"

The girl is shocked when she realises that her boyfriend is blind too; she refuses to marry him.

Sad and heart-broken, her boyfriend walks away in tears.

He later writes a note to her saying: "Just take care of my eyes dear."

This is how human mental thoughts changes when their status changed.

Only few remember what life was before, and who has always been there even in the most painful situations.

----------------------------------------------------

Life Is A Gift.

Today before you think of saying an unkind word,
Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food,
Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife,
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life,
Think of someone who died too early.

Before you complain about your children,
Think of someone who desires children but yet barren.

Before you argue about chores to be done in the house,
Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive,
Think of someone who travels the same distance by walking.

And when you are tired and complain about your job,
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

And before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another,
Remember that not one of us are without sin.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down,
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.
Today I learn to be Thankful.
